ZURICH - An unpleasant odour that left three flight attendants short of breath caused a Madrid-bound Lufthansa airplane to make an unplanned stop in Zurich today.

Airport rescue personnel who entered the plane after it landed also said they felt unwell from the stink. The source of the fumes was not immediately clear. Three of the six attendants on board were taken to hospital for a check, but passengers were unaffected.
