Source : News24Quote:An agreement has been reached but not yet signed between Transnet and Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) on the sale of the old Durban International Airport, Tourism Update reports. According to the article, Transnet plans to develop the former airport into a dig-out port. This comes after Minister of Public Enterprises, Malusi Gigaba, met recently with the Premier of KwaZulu Natal, Dr Zweli Mkhize, at the Dube Tradeport in Durban. The Minister also said Africa's state-owned airlines were considering King Shaka International Airport as a secondary regional hub in addition to OR Tambo, to connect South Africa to the continent and the rest of the world.
